SENIOR GUARD TOM COVERDALE
General Comments:
"We are very happy with the win. We came out a little bit tight in the first half. But, in the second half we calmed down and played the way we have been playing since the Big Ten Tournament. Now we are looking to Pittsburgh, they've got a great team. We are looking forward to it."
On Coach Davis wanting the win:
"We could tell that he was little uptight. He wants to win this badly every single game, but we did notice that he was uptight. We are glad to get this win for him."
SENIOR FORWARD JEFF NEWTON:
General Comments:
"It's a great win. Once we did well on defense then our offense picked up. It got us going."
On staying in the game:
"As a team we know how to fight. I thought we played hard in the second half. We got back into the game. We know that the game is never over. We know how to fight."

"They were really physical and they were fast. We came out a little tight in the first half. And we knew that how we did in the first five minutes of the second half would determine it."
On early struggles:
"I wanted to get into my rhythm. In the second half I came out looser than in the first half. I just started to drive to the basket more."
