Bloomington, Ind. - Day three of Spring Football at Indiana University featured the first day of pads and it was an intense two hours of practice.
Individual drills, which were highlighted by the defensive line unit and line coach Joe Cullen opened practice. The Indiana drill featured players going one-on-one in the trenches with lineman battling each other and wideouts facing off against defensive backs. Kenny Kendal and Kyle Killion performed well going head-to-head against the defensive line.
Nine-on-seven drills displayed the skills of Herana-Daze Jones and newcomer Luke Stone as both units exceled at times. Running back Marlin Lynch used his wide body to explode through the line a few times and find his way into the end zone.
Both quarterbacks (Matt LoVecchio and Graeme McFarland) continued to throw the ball well and both Tyke Spencer and Courtney Roby made spectacular catches from the arm of LoVecchio.
On the defensive side the ever-intense Cullen got hard workouts from Jodie Clemons and Martin Lapostolle.
The Hoosiers return to the practice field on Thursday once again in pads.
