Hoosiers Travel to Lady Buckeye

The Indiana University women's golf team will compete in its fifth tournament of the spring this weekend, as the Hoosiers travel to the Lady Buckeye Invitational.
The event will be held on April 19-20, and will feature 11 teams, including the Hoosiers.
Competing in the Lady Buckeye Invitational along with the Hoosiers are: Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, defending champion Kent State, Marshall, Methodist College, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio, Ohio State and Toledo.
Play will begin in the 54-hole tournament on Saturday, April 19, with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 ET. On Sunday, April 20, play will begin at 8:30 ET, also with a shotgun start.
The famed Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course will be setup at a par of 72 and 6,037 yards.
The Ohio State golf facility has been home to Jack Nicklaus, the 1995 and 2002 NCAA Championships, and the 1997 NCAA Women's Championships.
The course was designed by famed architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie, who also designed Augusta National Golf Club, the nation's most famous course and home of The Masters Tournament.

Tournament Format
The playing format for the Lady Buckeye Invitational will be play six players and count the four lowest scores.

Competing for Indiana at the Lady Buckeye Invitational will be: Karen Dennison, Danah Ford, Cara Stuckey, Ambry Bishop, Molly Redfearn, and Bethany Brunner.

IU Struggles With IU Weather
Although the 70-degree sun in shining brightly on the Hoosiers this week, Indiana struggled in dismal playing conditions, along with the rest of 11-team field, at the Indiana Invitational two weeks ago.
The Hoosiers, while battling 26-degree wind chills, finished fourth in their lone-home event of the year.
IU Shatters Records in Win
At the Lady Seahawk Invitational two weeks ago, IU finished with an 885 (298-298-289), one stroke ahead of Campbell, to capture the team championship.
The 54-hole total is a new school record, beating the previous best of 886, which was fired at the 1987 Lady Buckeye Invitational.
The 30th-ranked Hoosiers blistered the River Landing Golf Club with a round of 289, Indiana's third lowest round in school history. The Hoosiers fired a first round 284 en route to a 13th-place finish at the 1998 NCAA Championships, and a 288 to win the Bryan National Invitational in 2000.
Top-Ten Dennison
Karen Dennison continues to have an All-America season for the Hoosiers. The Madison, Ind., native has now recorded eight top-ten finishes in as many events this season. Dennison has recorded a remarkable three wins, two second-place finishes, a third, eighth, and ninth. Entering this season, Dennison's previous career best finish was a fourth-place tie.
IU Records Most Wins Since 1998
The Hoosiers have recorded three wins so far this year, and will be looking for their fourth this weekend.
This year's campaign marks the most victories for Indiana since the 1997-98 team won seven team titles, including the Big Ten Championship.
Any More Records to Break?
Karen Dennison has established many new school records this year with her dominant play on the golf course.
Dennison's current stroke average is 73.41, half a stroke better than the current single season school record average of 73.92, recorded by Erika Wicoff in 1995.
