Hoosiers Go Hard in Practice #4

Bloomington, Ind. - You know it was a solid practice when the most intense moment of the two-hour session was on the last play of offense vs. defense in the red zone. After an overthrown pass got the defensive unit fired up and into the face of John Pannozzo, Pannozzo came right back on the next play and made a nice catch and took on three defenders facing three tough hits and the jawing continued between players. The whistle then blew and practice came to an end on a high, intense note.
The defensive unit shined on day four of spring ball though Tyke Spencer, Yamar Washington, Brian Lewis, Matt Lovecchio and Marlin Lynch each had their moments.
The defense shut down the offense in a head-to-head drill that featured just the skilled players on the offense and the linebackers and secondary on defense. The defensive unit stopped the offense on 10 straight plays before Courtney Roby, Washington, Travis Haney and Spencer made four straight catches to help the offense end the drill on a high note.
In nine-on-seven drills Washington, Lewis and Lynch all broke through the line at one time or another. In offense vs. defense Kyle Killion once again played well with a big hit on Roby. And Kenny Kendal continued to apply pressure on the quarterback. LoVecchio showed his ability to scramble and get out of the pocket well while still showing that touch in his passing game.
Damien Jones returned to practice after missing two days.
The Hoosiers return to the practice fields on Saturday afternoon.
