BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University junior Karen Dennison has been named to the 2003 Verizon/CoSIDA University Division Women's At-Large Academic All-District V first team, which was announced Thursday, May 22.
Dennison, a sports marketing and management major, is coming off one of the most successful seasons in Indiana women's golf history. The Big Ten co-champion and All-America candidate won four individual medalist titles in 2003, as well as shattering many school records throughout the year.
To be nominated for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district. First team selections will appear on the national ballot for the Verizon Academic All-America Women's At-Large team.
