Siefker Places Second in Pan-American Junior Championships

Bloomington, Ind.-- Indiana track and field athlete Kelly Siefker (Vandalia, Ohio), placed second in the 2000 meter Steeplechase this weekend at the Pan- American Junior Championships held at the National Stadium in Waterford, St. Michael in Bridgetown Barbados.

Siefker was one of the 88 track and field athletes who earned qualifying times to represent Team USA. She finished with a time of 6:46, the same time she earned when she ran in the 2003 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Stanford, Calif. earlier this year.

Overall, Team USA on the womens side received a total of 25 medals placing them in first. Of those medals, 10 were gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze.
