Schindler Named Assistant

Indiana head water polo coach Barry King recently announced the addition of Cara Schindler as an assistant water polo coach. Schindler takes over for Kristie Dickey, who left to take the head water polo position at Marist.
"We are very excited to have Cara join the Indiana Water Polo and athletics families," King said. "She has gained coaching experience under two of the best coaches in the country, John Loughran and Rich Corso. I believe her passion for the sport and organizational skills will benefit the program greatly."
Schindler comes to Indiana after working as an Assistant Coach at California State University Northridge in 2002 and an age group coach for the Los Angeles Water Polo Club since 2001. At Northridge, she helped get a first year program going. Schindler was also the girls' varsity coach at Harvard-Westlake School in the winter of 2002-2003. Prior to being an assistant at Northridge, Schindler worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs at Loyola Marymount from August of 2001 to May of 2002.
Schindler was a team captain in 2001 in helping the Lions to a third place finish at the NCAA Championships. Also in 2001, Schindler was a first team All Western Water Polo Association selection. She graduated from Loyola Marymount in 2001 with a B.A. in Psychology with a Business Administration minor and finished a M.B.A. in marketing in 2003.
