Indiana Wins Third Straight

Muncie, Ind. - Indiana won its third straight game against a MAC conference opponent, with a 2-0 victory against Ball State on Friday, Sept. 5. This marks the first time in the program's four-year history that Indiana has won its first three games.
Head coach Amy Robertson could not be more pleased with Indiana's win.
"Today's win was a huge milestone for the program," Robertson said. "This was the best played game so far this year. Ball State is a great program, so it wasn't just a win, but a win over a great team."
Freshman Lydia Schrott put the Hoosiers on the board with her first goal of the season coming with 13:34 remaining in the first half.Sophomore Amelia Quane was credited with her first assist of the year on the goal.
Junior Kayla Bashore scored the Hoosiers second goal with 28:55 remaining in the game off a penalty corner from the top of the circle. The goal sets a new season high for her in goals with four.
This was the first win in Muncie against Ball State for Indiana assistant coach Gina Lucido, a former Ball State field hockey player.
"The win today was not just a win over an in-state rival, it was a monumental win for the Indiana field hockey program," Lucido said. "It's great to win games on the road against competitive teams."
The Hoosiers return to action on the road in Muncie, Ind. to face Southwest Missouri State Saturday, September 6, at 12:00 p.m.
