Hoosiers Defeat Bison, 3-2

Indiana got onto the board first with a goal by freshman Frederique Meeuwsen at the 16 minute mark off of a assist from Lesley Wiler.
IU extended its lead to 2-0 as sophomore Lydia Schrott and junior Mallory Reabold assisted freshman Meredith Brown in the 19th minute.
Bucknell cut into the Indiana lead in the 37th minute as Alex Kyzmir scored off of an assist from Meiko Boynton.
In the 51st minute, Schrott gave IU a commanding 3-1 lead, as she scored her team leading sixth goal of the season.
The final goal of the day came in the 69th minute from Callista Costopoulos of Bucknell off of an assist from Boynton.
For the game, Indiana held a 19-18 edge in shots, while Bucknell owned a 12-10 edge in shots on goal. Both teams had 12 penalty corners. Senior goalkeeper Katie Kanara recorded a season high 10 saves in the win.
"Today we created more opportunities to score," head coach Amy Robertson said. "We still could have done a better job of finishing but we did what we needed to do. Katie did a really good job today. Without her it would have been interesting."
The Hoosiers return to action on Friday, Oct. 8, when they travel to Evanston, Ill. to take on Big Ten rival Northwestern at Lakeside Field beginning a 3 p.m.
