Hoosiers Win Regular Season Finale

Saint Louis jumped to an early 1-0 lead behind a goal from Michelle Sinclair off an assist from Rita Murphy in the 15th minute.
Indiana tied the game at one as Morgan Miller scored off a penalty corner from Lydia Schrott and Meredith Brown as time expired in the first half.
In the 42nd minute, Indiana appeared to have scored the go ahead goal but the officials ruled that the ball was illegally hit into the net. Saint Louis had its best attempt to take the lead in the 51st minute as Catherine Donovan broke free from the IU defense, but was turned away by senior goalkeeper Katie Kanara, who was playing in her final home game of her career.
IU took a 2-1 lead, in the 58th minute as Lesley Wiler scored her fourth goal of the season unassisted.
"We had a great push out," Wiler said, "I took the shot and made it."
Indiana extended its lead to 3-1, 30 seconds later as junior Jodi Murphy received a pass from freshman Frederique Meeuwsen, raced down the right side of the field and placed it past the SLU goalkeeper for her second goal of the season.
Despite not recording a save, Kanara, earned the victory.
"In the first half we didn't play our style," head coach Amy Robertson said. "We didn't execute our game plan and played out of sync. In the second half we became more aggressive and played with more confidence. We need to start playing every team the same way."
Indiana returns to action on Friday, Nov. 5, when it travels to Evanston, Ill. for the Big Ten tournament. The Hoosiers will face off against co-regular season Big Ten Champion Michigan State at 2 p.m. at Leonard B. Thomas Sports Complex. >
