GD: "Two weeks ago, we took a step back. This past week we moved in the right direction. We'll be back at work today. Practice will be the same as it's been the last two weeks."
On the three running backs last weekend:
GD: "I thought all three played well. It obviously creates a competition, and I think that competition is good for everybody. It brings out the best in most people. It motivates most people in that situation. I was pleased with the way that the three of them played."
On Aaron Halterman:
GD: "I think that his greatest strength is his consistency. You always know that you are going to get a good performance from him. It is rare that you don't get a good performance from him. That is very important when you are planning because you know what you have. He has gotten better each year, but you always know that he is going to play well."
On the Illinois game this weekend:
GD: "Defensively, they are very aggressive. They are very well-coached, and they have a blend of youth and experience. They have a very good kick game, so field position will be an issue. Offensively, they are a balanced attack. It is a true, traditional West Coast attack."
On the defensive side of the ball and success against Minnesota:
GD: "I thought we played hard and had better gap discipline. We were defending the run much more aggressively against them [Minnesota], than we had because they are a big play, passing attack. The plan was good by the coaches, and I thought the players did a good job of implementation."
On the mindset of the team:
GD: "I haven't been with the team since Sunday, but on Sunday we put the last game to rest. Whether we just come off a big win or a big loss, we don't dwell on either one. We just focus on what is next, and that is the Illinois game."
