IU Ready for Big Ten Tournament

The Indiana women's soccer team travels to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the Big Ten Tournament.
LAST WEEK'S RECAP
The Indiana women's soccer team gave Kim Grodek a "Senior Day" to remember as the Hoosiers scored a season high four first half goals en route to a 4-0 win over Butler on Friday night, Oct. 29 at Armstrong Stadium.
Grodek was also a key factor in the win as the senior midfielder went out in grand style with two goals and an assist on the night.
The Hoosiers jumped on the Bulldogs early taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of play. Grodek took a pass from freshman Lindsay McCarthy and put it in the upper right corner of the net from six yards out.
IU would notch its second goal nearly five minutes later. This time Grodek would feed a pass to a freshman, Kristen Radcliffe, and the forward put in a line drive shot from eight yards out at the 8:12 mark.
Grodek was back at it again just two minutes later. On a corner kick by sophomore Laura Lamping, Grodek was able to get in the box and put in her second goal of the game for a Hoosier 3-0 lead.
The Cream and Crimson would pad its lead to 4-0 on sophomore Megan Pipkens her fourth goal off the season. Pipkens was able to steal the ball from two Bulldogs and put it right past Butler goalie Katie Sanders for the score.
Junior goalkeeper Lauren Fabbro stopped two shots on the night in posting her sixth shutout of the year.
Indiana outshot Butler 18-4, including a 9-2 shots on goal advantage.
HOOSIERS IN THE BIG TEN TOURNAMENT
Indiana has qualified for the Big Ten Tournament for the third straight year. Since head coach Mick Lyon took over in 2002, IU has made the Big Ten Tournament in all three of his seasons. IU had gone three straight year's prior to that without participating in the conference postseason event.
IU will be seeded eighth and will face top seeded Penn State on Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m. The Hoosiers lost a heartbreaking 1-0 contest at Penn State earlier this season. The Big Ten Tournament will take place from Nov. 4-7 at Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University.
