Head Coach Mike DavisOn development of team
MD: "The guys are playing loose and free. We are communicating with each other really well. They are making our job as coaches
easier because of the communication on the
court.They are cutting hard and have bought
into what we have brought to the table. We
are getting better each day."
On the team's first exhibition game
MD: "We are hoping to get good execution on both ends of the court. We made some nice plays today, like making the extra pass. We are trying to get away from playing wild basketball."
Sophomore Guard Errek Suhr
On exhibition games
ES: "We are going to use these games to get ready for the season. We are going to come out and try to win them, but at the same time use these games to learn. We are going to come out and play as hard as we can for as long as we can. Exhibition games are one more step in getting ready for the season. We are going to use the games to fine tune our game."
On his expectations this season
ES: "I think that my hard work has paid off. I have put in a lot of time, along with the rest of the guys. I've worked hard and have given it everything I got. If I see some time this year, it would be great. If I don't, it's nothing to get your head down about. At a school like this, for me to get playing time it would be a dream come true. I will just try to work hard every day."
Freshman Forward Robert Vaden
On playing with freshman D.J. White
RV: "We have played a lot together, like at the Nike Camps and different all-star games. We are use to playing with each other. I feel that we have a lot of chemistry together."
On his first exhibition game
RV: "I just want to play hard and do what ever my coaches want me to do, whether it's rebounding or scoring. Whatever they want me to do I will do it and play to the best of my abilities."
On his expectations this season
RV: "I have only one goal and that is to win. Points, rebounds and assists don't really matter, I just want to go out there and win as many games we can and get to the NCAA Tournament."
