IU Diving Signs Weyermann In Fall

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head Diving Coach Dr. Jeff Huber and the Indiana University men's diving squad announced the signing of one student-athlete for the 2005-06 academic year. Max Weyermann (Katy, Texas/James E. Taylor) will look to impact Indiana beginning with the 2005-06 campaign.
Weyermann, a state high school champion from Katy, Texas, also earned a pair of All-America certificates in 2003 and 2004. Additionally, Weyermann garnered the Texas Diver of the Year award in 2004.
"Although Max is the Texas state high school diving champion, I believe his best diving is really ahead of him," Huber said. "He has a great deal of talent and is currently diving with a terrific program that will help him continue improving. He is strong in all three events (1m, 3m, and 10m) and, most importantly, he is really excited to be a part of the IU diving program. I think he fell in love with the school and team when he was in Bloomington for a meet several years ago. Of all the recruits who visited this year, Max was the most impressive and the one whom the team liked the most. The team and I are excited that Max will be diving for IU next year."
Next up, the Cream and Crimson travel to Key Largo, Fla., over Dec. 30-Jan. 5 for the holiday training trip with a day of competition on Dec. 30 at the Orange Bowl Classic.
