BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana continues the nation's toughest schedule when it visits No. 7/6 (AP/Coaches) Connecticut (2-0) on Dec. 4 at 12 p.m. at the Hartford Civic Center (16,294) in Hartford, Conn. This is the second of four straight ranked opponents that Indiana faces between Dec. 1 and 11. The Hoosiers ended their season-opening three-game homestand with a 70-63 loss to No. 9/11 North Carolina in the Dec. 1 Big Ten-ACC Challenge at Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers will face No. 20/19 Notre Dame (Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.) and No. 8/8 Kentucky (Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.) in their next two contests.
Although the all-time series between Connecticut and Indiana is tied at two games apiece, Indiana and Coach Mike Davis are looking for the third straight victory over a non-league defending national champion. The Hoosiers upended defending 2002 national champion Maryland, 80-74 on Dec. 3, 2002, in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Duke won the 2001 crown before being eliminated by IU, 74-73 in the 2002 NCAA Tournament.
This marks Indiana's first of five CBS Television appearances in 2004-05. Spero Dedes (play-by-play) and Clark Kellogg (analysis) will call all of the action.
