Bennett Named to Rivals.com BT

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana sophomore Lance Bennett was named to Rivals.com 2004 All-Big Ten team as announced by the website on Tuesday. Bennett closed the year ranked third in the country and first in the Big Ten with a 29.95 kickoff return average.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native had a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Oregon on Sept. 11. The return was the second longest in the history of IU football. It was the first kickoff return for a touchdown since Derin Graham had a 90-yarder vs. Kentucky on Sept. 19, 1999.
In addition to his kickoff duties, Bennett returned a punt for a touchdown 94 yards against Michigan State on Sept. 25. The score broke the school record of 93 yards set by Steve Porter, against Wisconsin on Oct. 24, 1970.
The special teams juggernaut finished the year ranked sixth in the conference and 41st in the country with a punt return average of 10.9.
