BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - As a result of a strong start to the 2004-05 season, the Indiana wrestling program has six wrestlers ranked in their respective weight classes, according to InterMat.
At 125 pounds, junior All-American Joe Dubuque is ranked seventh. He is off to a 3-1 start after a second place finish at the Mat Town Invitational on Nov. 27.
Senior heavyweight Pat DeGain is currently ranked fifth. DeGain is off to a 10-2 start with title at the Eastern Michigan Open and two runner-up finishes.
Senior Mike Simpson is off to a 7-2 start and is ranked 10th at 141 pounds. At 157 pounds, redshirt freshman Brandon Becker is ranked 17th.
After a first-place performance at the Mat Town Invitational, junior Brady Richardson is 16th at 174 pounds, while junior Andy Rios is 14th at 184 pounds.
As a team the Hoosiers are one of 11 Big Ten schools to be either receiving votes or ranked in the top-25.
The Hoosiers open dual competition at Eastern Illinois on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. at Lantz Arena.
