BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After helping No. 13 Indiana to a pair of dual-meet victories over Southern Illinois (156-131) and Iowa (185.50-93.50) on Dec. 4 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., redshirt freshman Taylor Roberts was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week for the week of Dec. 6.
"I am happy for Taylor," Head Diving Coach Dr. Jeff Huber said. "He has been hampered by some shoulder soreness and range of motion problems this semester; so, it is nice to see him persevere and continue improving."
Roberts earned his first career Diver of the Week recognition after finishing in the top-two in the one-meter and three-meter springboard events in Indianapolis. The Aurora, Colo., native placed second, behind teammate senior Marc Carlton, with a 310.90 tally in the one-meter before out-diving Carlton in the three-meter with a first-place 325.85 total. This award is Indiana's third diver of the week recognition of the season.
Next up, the Cream and Crimson travel to Key Largo, Fla., over Dec. 30-Jan. 5 for the holiday training trip with a day of competition on Dec. 30 at the Orange Bowl Classic.
