Hoosiers Top Indiana State, 6-1

Bloomington, Ind.-- After a week off, the Indiana Hoosier mens tennis team put together a stellar performance to top the Indiana State Sycamores, 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the IU Indoor Tennis Courts.
With the win, Indiana moves to 2-1 overall, while Indiana State slips to 0-1 on the season.

The Hoosiers swept in doubles with the No. 1 tandem of Ryan Recht and John Stone defeating Ivan DArgence Arceo and Aaron Phillips, 9-8 (7-5), No. 2 Jakub Praibis and Dmytro Ishtuganov downing Dewald Linde and R.J. Nagel, 8-2 and the No. 3 doubles team, Ryan McCarthy and Neil Kenner defeating Boyd Michau and Andrey Kumanstov, 8-4.

Indiana then went on to win five of its six singles matches to capture the victory. No. 1 singles player Praibis improved his record to 3-0 at the No. 1 spot after topping his opponent Andrey Kumanstov, 6-1, 6-0. After losing his first match, 7-5, Stone came back to pick up his second singles victory of the season, beating Boyd Michau 6-3, 7-5.

The Hoosiers wrap up this weekends action with a match against Murray State on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m.
