Overton Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana men's golfer Jeff Overton picked up his third career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor after his performance at the St. Croix Collegiate Classic on March 5-7. The second-ranked golfer in the nation finished in a tie for fourth at the event, two shots behind Chad Spencer of Fresno State.

Overton was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week in 2003 following a second-place finish at the Marshall Invitational and Co-Golfer of the Week after tying for second at the First Energy Intercollegiate in 2002.

This season, the Evansville, Ind., native has five top 10's in six events with a scoring average of 69 in 17 rounds. He has scored in the 60s 11 times and has led his team to three championships and two second-place finishes.

Up next, Overton and the Hoosiers return to the links at the Steve Kerr Invitational on Friday-Saturday, March 19-20 at Sundance Golf Club in Buckeye, Ariz.
