TAMPA, Fla.-- The No. 64 Indiana men's tennis team wrapped up its spring trip in Tampa, Fla., with a decisive 4-3 loss to the 38th-ranked South Florida Bulls Friday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
The Hoosiers slip to 6-7 on the season, while the Bulls improve to 9-3 overall.
Indiana was swept in the doubles competition as No. 31 Ryan Recht and John Stone fell to Paco Antelo and Renato Silveria, 8-3; Dmytro Ishtuganov and Jakub Praibis lost to Uli Kiendl and Karim Benmansour, 8-5 and Neil Kenner and Ryan McCarthy were defeated by Fredy Barton and Andy Maroldt, 8-4.
IU's only victories in singles came from 59th-ranked Praibis who downed Kiendl, 2-6, 6-3, -5, Kenner who took care of Silverira in two sets, 6-2, 7-5 and Stone who beat German Escallon, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Indiana returns to action on Saturday, March 27 when they host the Wisconsin Badgers. Match time is set for Noon.
