Indiana Wraps Up Spring Season

Bloomington, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team wrapped up its spring tournament action over the weekend in Louisville, Ky., in a tournament hosted by the University of Louisville.
According to head coach Amy Robertson, the Hoosiers had a productive spring and are excited for the fall to arrive.
"We were very pleased with our overall performance in this last tournament," Robertson said. "We were able to show how much we have improved from the fall. The direction of the program has really taken off, which leaves us really excited for the fall."
The Louisville tournament featured a total of four Big Ten teams, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Northwestern, and three other schools on the Hoosiers' 2004 schedule, Ball State, Louisville and Southwest Missouri State.
In the 7 v 7 tournament held on Saturday, April 17, the Hoosiers had a record of 3-1-1. Indiana picked up wins over Southwest Missouri State, 3-0, Ohio, 2-1 and the Alumni team, 5-0.
During the 11 v 11 tournament on Sunday, April 18, Indiana went 1-1-1. The Hoosiers had begun the morning with a 1-0 win over Northwestern, the Hoosiers then fell to Louisville, 1-0, and they ended the day with a 1-1 tie to Iowa.
Indiana's first action of the fall will be a scrimmage against Ball State on August 22, 2004 at 2 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
