IU Wraps Up Season at Big Ten Championships

The Indiana University women's golf team looks to compete in what could be its final tournament of the year, when the Hoosiers travel to Big Ten Championships.
The OSU Scarlet Course will host the event April 23-25, in Columbus, Ohio.
The course will be setup as a par 72 and a yardage of 6,201 yards.
The 72-hole event will field 11 teams -Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.
The tournament begins Friday with round one at 8:00 a.m. EST and round two is set to begin at 12:15 p.m. EST. The teams will play of the third round at 9:00 a.m. EST on Saturday. The final round will get under way at 8:00 a.m. EST on Sunday.
The Starting Six
Seniors Karen Dennison, Danah Ford, Ambry Bishop and Mary Lidester, junior Bethany Brunner and sophomore Molly Redfearn will represent Indiana at the Big Ten Championships.
Tournament Format
Scoring for the Big Ten Championships will be six players with the low four scores from each round counting toward the overall team total.

Ford Earns Big Ten Golfer of the Week Honors
Danah Ford becomes the second Hoosier to be named Big Ten Golfer of the Week for the 2004 season after her performance at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational. This is the first Golfer of the Week honor for Ford in her career, and only the third time a Hoosier has garnered the honor.
Ford, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., won the individual honors at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational by three strokes over her closest opponent in the field, which included nine Big Ten programs, to finish with a 221 (71-68-82).
This marks the first time in Ford's career she has captured individual honors. She became the third Hoosier to capture individual honors at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational, as she set a new career and Indiana individual 36 and 54-hole total at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational with a 139 36-hole 221 54-hole total.
A Ranked Field
The latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings that were released April 19, has Indiana ranked 32nd in the nation.
Joining Indiana in the Big Ten Championships will be five other teams ranked in the top-50 of the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings. Host Ohio State leads the field being ranked third, followed by Michigan State ranked 19th, 37th-ranked Northwestern, 41st-ranked Purdue and 50th-ranked Michigan.
Last Time at Big Ten Championships
Indiana finished eighth at the 2003 Big Ten Championships shooting a four-round 1,237. Karen Dennison took home the individual medalist honors with a 294. Danah Ford, Ambry Bishop, Molly Redfearn and Mary Lidester all competed last year at the Big Ten Championships. This will be Bethany Brunner's first Big Ten Championship appearance.
