Indiana Third at Indiana Invitational After Two Rounds

Bloomington, Ind. - The Indiana women's golf team, hosting the Indiana Invitational, sit in third position as it enters the final round on Sunday, April 4 at the IU Golf Course.
Indiana shot two solid rounds for 615 (308-307) on the opening day. The Hoosiers are 10-shots back of the leader, Michigan State and three-shots back of Missouri.
Indiana was led by senior Karen Dennison, who after shooting an opening round 76, came back to fire a second round 71 to end the day in a tie for second 147, one-under-par. On the day, Dennison made six birdies and 25 pars.
Sophomore Molly Redfearn and senior Mary Lidester sit in a tie for 18th at 145. Redfearn shot 77-79 and Lidester shot two rounds of 78, including an eagle on 13 during the second round.
Senior Danah Ford struggled with rounds of 80-79 to end the day tied for 37th with 158. Senior Ambry Bishop fired a first round 77, but faltered in the second round to end at 164 for a tie for 56th. Junior Bethany Brunner, rounding at the Indiana lineup, is tied for 68th with a two round total 166 (82-84).
Playing for Indiana as individuals, are junior Alyse Tankanow and sophomores Katie Carlson and Lissa Putnam. Putnam opened the tournament in a tie for 51st with 163 (85-78). Carlson shot rounds of 88 and 87 to put her in 86th-place at 175, and Tankanow had a total of 192 (98-94) to finish the rounds in 95th.
Indiana will tee off on holes one through four beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 4 as the Hoosiers look to make a move up the leader board, and capture its first Indiana Invitational title since 2000.
