IU Outlasts Purdue, 108-76 (05-01-04)

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--The Indiana men's track and field team put together a stellar performance to outlast its arch-rival Purdue, 108-76 in a dual meet on Saturday at the Robert Haugh Track and Field Complex. The win earned IU another point in the Titan series. However, the IU women's team lost to the Boilermakers, 94-92 which keeps the Titan Series tied at 8.5 apiece
The Hoosiers received all-around good performances on the men's side with six individuals turning in personal bests. The sprinters that turned in personal bests were Trey Warfield in the 400m (49.36), Andre Grimes in the 100m (10.61), Kevin Kempf in the 400m Hurdles (53.74). The lone thrower was Wil Fleming in the hammer 60.61/198-10.00. Among the jumpers was Noah Shelton in the triple jump (13.52m/44-04.25), Britain Jorgenson in the high jump (1.95m/6-02.75).
"Today, the guys showed up and proved they wanted to score some points, said head coach Randy Heisler." "Looking at the whole team, our guys are getting there, hopefully that means they can do something at the conference meet."
