Indiana Tied For 14th at NCAA Central Regional

Normal, Ill. - The Indiana women's golf team finds itself in a tie for 14th place after 36 holes at the NCAA Central Regional hosted by Illinois State. The Hoosiers shot a 320 in the second round to finish with a two-round total 631. Vanderbilt and Michigan State are the leaders of the tournament with a 605 after completing two rounds of competition.
Senior Karen Dennison leads all Hoosiers with a 154 (73, 81) and a share of 20th place. Senior Mary Lidester rebounded from a tough round one to shoot a 75 on day two and finish with a 157. Lidester is tied for 44th. Sophomore Molly Redfearn is tied for 71st place after shooting a 161 with 18 holes remaining. Senior Ambry Bishop struggled in the second round, shooting an 84 on the day for a 165 overall and a share of 90th place.
Senior Danah Ford was forced to withdraw from the second round due to illness. Ford played four holes during the second round before stopping.
Vanderbilt and New Mexico began the day with a one-stroke lead over Arizona, but was challenged all day long by Big Ten foe, Michigan State. The Spartans are tied for the lead at 605. Baylor sits four strokes back in third at 609, while Southern California is in fourth, six strokes back of the Commodores and Spartans.
Individually, Erica Blasberg from Arizona is lead at 1-under-par 141.
The top eight teams from each of the three regional tournaments (East, Central and West) will advance to the NCAA finals in Auburn, Ala. in two weeks. Indiana will conclude the NCAA Central Regional tomorrow with the final round beginning at 8 a.m. Indiana is scheduled to tee off beginning at 12:30 p.m. from the first tee.
