IU Tabbed Seventh in Great Lakes Region

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –The Indiana Hoosiers women’s soccer team was tabbed seventh in the preseason Great Lakes Region poll by Soccer Buzz magazine.
The Hoosiers finished last year unranked at 8-10-1. They return six starters, including first team and All-Great Lakes Region performer senior Kim Grodek.
Eight Big Ten schools also made the preseason poll with Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin all selected ahead of Indiana. Michigan State, Purdue and Northwestern round were also among the 15-member poll.
IU will play two exhibition games this weekend. The Cream and Crimson will scrimmage Kentucky in Fort Wayne on Friday and host Western Kentucky in Armstrong Stadium on Sunday.
The Hoosiers will open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 27, as Indiana travels to Milwaukee, Wisc. to play in the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Invitational. IU will face Marquette and host Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the season opening tournament.
