"I was very happy with the way we played," said coach Amy Robertson. "It was very helpful for us to go out there and play against another team."
The informal scrimmage consisted of three 25-minute periods.
IU and Ball State were tied 1-1 at the end of the first. The Cardinals would get the best of the Hoosiers in the second, taking a 3-2 lead. Indiana would rally to knot the score at three, before the end of regulation.
"We experimented a bit in the second period," said Robertson. "Overall, I liked our attack in the offensive zone. We had a lot going on and missed some chances, but I we did a lot of good things."
All three IU goalies split time on the day. Coach Robertson was pleased what she in the trio.
"I think our goalies handled their own. Haley allowed two goals in the second, but I also think she was challenged the most."
While the scrimmage was informal, coach Robertson was most impressed with three players.
"I think Jodi Murphy, Lydia Schrott, and Morgan Miller all played extremely well. Jodi and Schrott generated a lot of attack, while Miller was very strong in the back distributing the ball to everyone."
IU will have a week of practice left before their season opener at the University of California-Berkeley on Saturday, Aug. 28.
