Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana head football coach Gerry DiNardo, senior wide receiver Travis Haney and senior defensive lineman Martin Lapostolle will be in attendance at the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon on Thursday, August 5, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, beginning at 10 a.m. The luncheon is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. with ABC Sports' Brad Nessler serving as the master of ceremonies.
Haney has big-play potential, evidenced by the fact that he averaged a team-best 22.0 yards per catch as a junior in 2003. Haney made eight catches for 176 yards with his best performance coming against Connecticut, where he made three catches for 99 yards. Following spring drills in 2004, Haney was named co-Most Outstanding Senior of the spring along with safety Herana-Daze Jones.
Lapostolle started 11 of the 12 games in which he played in 2003. He posted a season-high two tackles against Kentucky.
Along with the other 10 league coaches, these players will be in attendance: senior center Duke Preston and sophomore running back E.B. Halsey of Illinois, senior defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux and senior defensive end Matt Roth of Iowa, senior outside linebacker David Baas, senior wide receiver Braylon Edwards, and senior cornerback Marlin Jackson of Michigan, and junior wide receiver Kyle Brown and senior free safety Jason Harmon of Michigan State.
These players will also be present at the luncheon: senior offensive tackle Rian Melander and senior defensive end Darrell Reid of Minnesota, senior defensive tackle Luis Castillo and senior running back Noah Herron of Northwestern, senior cornerback Dustin Fox and senior tailback Lydell Ross of Ohio State, senior quarterback Zack Mills and senior defensive line Jason Robinson of Penn State, senior quarterback Kyle Orton and senior wide receiver Taylor Stubblefield of Purdue, senior running back Anthony Davis and senior defensive back Jim Leonhard of Wisconsin.
