Hoosiers Win Fourth Straight

The Hoosiers dominated the match from start to finish on both sides of the field as IU recorded 23 shots, including 13 shots on goal to Appalachian State's five shots.
IU got onto the board first with sophomore Morgan Miller's third goal of the season off of an assist from Lydia Schrott at the 11 minute mark in the first half. IU extended its lead to 2-0, when Nikki Orciuch scored a goal off of a rebounded shot from Lydia Schrott at the 26th minute mark.
"We came out and played hard," Morgan Miller said. "We were successful in containing their best player because of the play of Meredith Brown and Lesley Wiler."
IU pushed across its third goal of the match as Wiler rocketed a shot from ten yards out four minutes into the second half.
The final goal off the day was by junior Mallory Reabold as she tipped the ball in off of an assist from Miller with 2:49 remaining in the game.
The Mountaineers had their best chance to score when Andrea Lee broke free on a break away down the left side of the field but sophomore Jodi Murphy cut her off breaking up the play with 6:45 left in the game.
"Our game plan today was to take away the space in the middle of the field," Head Coach Amy Robertson said. "We were trying to take their best player out of the game. We were happy with our depth along the attacking line."
Goalkeepers Katie Kanara and Haley Exner combined to post the team's second shut out of the season.
Indiana returns to action on Friday, September 17, when they travel to Louisville, Ky. to take on the Louisville Cardinals at 3 p.m.
