Strong First Half Leads IU to Win

Indiana put the pressure on Lindenwood the entire game out shooting the Lions 26-6, including 12-2 shots on goals. For Indiana, ten Hoosiers attempted at least one shot.
"We came out an attacked today," Head Coach Amy Robertson said. "Today we did a good job of creating opportunities to score. Everybody executed great today."
IU got onto the board first when sophomore Mallory Reabold scored a goal less than three minutes into the match. IU extended its lead to 2-0, when sophomore Lydia Schrott received an assist from Jodi Murphy and pushed it pass the Lindenwood goalie at the 27th minute mark in the first half.
Less than two minutes later, Schrott scored her second goal of the match to give IU a commanding 3-0 first half lead.
"We came out and played hard today," Schrott said. "I'm a forward, my job is to score and that's what I set out to do."
Indiana's final goal of the first half came from Nikki Orciuch with just over 16 minutes left. Just before halftime, Lindenwood scored their first goal of the game by Ingrid Hoffman with less than two minutes left in the first half.
IU extended its lead to 5-1, when Lesley Wiler received a tip from Meredith Brown, who received a corner from Schrott with 11 minutes remaining in the game. Less than three minutes later, junior Amelia Quane scored IU's sixth goal of the match.
The final IU goal of the day came from freshman Frederique Meeuwsen with less than four minutes remaining in the match.
The Hoosiers return to action Friday, September 17, when they travel to Louisville, Ky. to take on the Louisville Cardinals at 3 p.m.
