On Preparing for Kentucky
GD: "We haven't had much time to start preparing for Kentucky. We got home at 5 o'clock in the morning on Sunday, so we didn't do as much as we usually do on Sunday. We are trying to play catch up a little bit. Monday was our team's day off and we can't reschedule because then you will have class schedule conflicts. Today is really our first day of practice to get ready for Kentucky."
On the IU/UK Game
GD: "The Kentucky/Indiana game is a big game. It stands by itself and is a terrific game. We have a lot of work to do to get ready for it. This is going to be a night game, the home opener for UK. It's an intense game."
On Preparing for Inclement Weather
GD: "We will. This week we will use a wet ball. We have to anticipate bad weather. Last year the game was stopped a couple of times because of lightning. This is the rainy season down south."
On Season So Far
GD: "The first two games we have played hard. We have done some better things because we are playing with experience. We need to continue to build on our experience. We have a team that has taken a lot of snaps."
On Pass Efficiency
GD: "It has been a concern, but we need to improve in this area of the game."
On Kentucky
GD: "They run a 3-4 defense and not many teams now run that type of defense. Their defensive coordinator (Mike Archer) brought this type of defense over from the NFL. Offensively, they have the ability to run the option and pass, which is something else we haven't faced much. And in the special teams game, they are very good, Steve Ortmayer is one of the best in the country."
On UK's running game
GD: "They know who they are going to put back there. What I can expect is that they are going to have a good player dot the eye."
On UK's QB Shane Boyd
GD: "He's a problem. He has the ability to throw and run. He is going to be a difficult quarterback to defend. It's not like we haven't see him before. We played against him last year so we have a pretty good sense of him. We expect something different from last year's look with Jared Lorenzen."
On Offense and Defense Performance Last Week
GD: "I thought both sides did what they needed to do to win."
On Offensive Line Performance
GD: "I feel that their best football is ahead of them. They have done a good job so far but there is room for improvement."
