Hoosiers Face IPFW

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Coming off a second-place finish at the UT-Arlington Invitational, the Indiana volleyball team opens a four-match homestand against IPFW on Tuesday night, Sept. 14. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at University Gym.
IU went 2-1 in Arlington, defeating Arkansas-Little Rock, 3-1, and Houston, 3-1, before falling to UTA, 3-0.
Two Hoosiers were awarded for their play, as Katie Pollom and Christina Archibald were named to the all-tournament team. Pollom recorded 39 kills (3.55 kpg) to go with nine blocks (.82) and six service aces. Archibald posted 37 kills (3.36), 29 digs (2.64) and four blocks (.36).
IPFW enters the match with a 5-2 record. The Mastodons are fresh off a championship at the AmeriHost Invitational in Green Bay, Wis. IPFW downed Temple, 3-2, and North Dakota State, 3-1. Cynara Martins was named the tournament MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by Lindsay Brammer.
Following tonight's match, the Hoosiers will host the TIS Bookstore Invitational. Indiana will face Alabama at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, before taking on Kent State at 12:30 p.m. and Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18.
