Hoosiers Close Tourney with Win

Orland Park, Ill. -The Indiana University softball team closed out the Chicagoland Fall Classic with a 3-1 win over Bradley on Sunday afternoon at Centennial Park.
Megan Roark had another strong outing, finishing the game with 12 strikeouts and a pair of walks. For the weekend Roark finished with 26 strikeouts in 16 innings.
"We learned a lot of things this weekend," said interim head coach Stacey Phillips. "Overall, we need to work on some things, but we are really excited to get back to the field and improve on these areas. This team works hard, and with great attitudes on each player, we have a lot of things to strive for."
The Hoosiers finished the tournament with a record of 1-3-1 after a 0-0 tie with Western Illinois and losses to Northern Iowa (6-0), Northern Illinois (5-1) and Illinois State (3-0).
The Hoosiers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Indiana State Tournament in Terre Haute, Ind. IU faces Butler and Parkland J.C. (Champaign, Ill.) in the one-day tournament.
