GD: "This Michigan team is the most talented team we have played this season. They are well put together and are coming off of a big win over Iowa at home. We're in conference play and we have our work cut out for us."
Second Half Problems
GD: "It could be a lot of things. This Saturday, for instance we could have executed better. Michigan State didn't make any significant adjustments on defense, I just thought we got out of sync. We have to play better. We need to address this and we are going to start it today."
Status of Mangiero
GD: "Doubtful"

GD: "Probable"
On a Change of Personnel
GD: "Anytime you change personnel you take into account practice, game, opponent, game plan and home or away. I remember Chris Mangiero made his first start against Michigan at Michigan. I don't know if that's the best place to start your first game as a true freshman but circumstances dictated that he start that game. Anytime you make a personnel change those factors are taken into account."
On Evaluating Positions
GD: "I don't evaluate the quarterback position any differently from any other position."
On Defending UM's Wide Receivers
GD: "They are really good. We will probably give them different looks throughout the game. We will probably at times pick one to double, knowing that you will be vulnerable with the other one. It also depends on what they do-meaning if they have two or three receivers in the game. Playing with 12 would be good. Playing with 13 would be better. It's an issue."
On Michigan
GD: "Their linebackers are good. They have gone to a new defense this year because of their depth and quality at linebacker. They have two guys in their secondary that could win the (Jim) Thorpe Award and all three down linemen will probably play in the NFL one day. They have a Ray Guy Award watch list guy as well. It's kind of picking your poison. Their personnel are very good. They run a different scheme so you have to make adjustments, and they have one of the finest coaching staffs in America."
On Playing Younger Players
GD: "I think you always look at the chance to get younger guys into the game. It's one of the reasons why good programs develop their players because they get ahead by three or four touchdowns and they get a chance to get younger players in."
On Decision of Redshirting Freshmen
GD: "I have not completely made them yet. Tracy (Porter) is the only freshman who has played. We have some in the two-deep roster and those are the most difficult decisions to make. Now we are going into a fifth game and deciding to play a guy or save his year. You are exchanging his 18th birthday for his 22nd birthday. You have to decide what's best for the program and what's best for the player. We have only played one freshman and this is a good class. Also if you have a bunch of injuries you have no choice."
On Play of Cornerbacks this Year
GD: "I don't know if any of us anticipated a true freshman starting every game and that's what Tracy has done. We knew that was a position that a freshman could compete at. Buster Larkins has also come along as well. Michigan's receivers will challenge us."
