Women's Cross Country Helps Community

With a day off school on Jan. 17, 2005, Martin Luther King, Jr. day, most school goers both elementary all the way through college, would normally enjoy a nice relaxing day, while also having a great time and enjoying what the afternoon brought them. That is exactly what the Indiana women's cross country team did; however, they didn't spend their afternoon at home relaxing. Instead they went to a food shelter and to lend a helping hand for those in need.
Head Coach Judy Wilson and her squad thought it would be a good idea to volunteer somewhere since the student athletes on the women's cross country team had a day off from classes. Therefore, the team went to help at a local food shelter. While there, the team helped prepare bags for a food drive coming in April. In addition, they sorted cans of food that people had donated.
The Hoosiers will continue to be involved in the community throughout the remainder of the season.
