BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana will play a pair of road matches this weekend against No. 8 Duke and No. 15 North Carolina. The Hoosiers will face the Blue Devils on Jan. 29 at noon in the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center and the Tar Heels on Jan. 30 at 1 p.m., in the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Both teams qualified for the 2004 NCAA Championship.
***Six of Indiana's next seven opponents rank in the top-30 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll. Four of those six matches against ranked opponents will come away from the friendly confines of the IU Varsity Tennis Center.
***Indiana is coming off a pair of 6-1 home wins over DePaul and Ball State on Jan. 22. The top four singles players, No. 1 Dora Vastag, No. 2 Sarah Batty, No. 3 Laura McGaffigan and No. 4 Brianna Williams, each picked up two wins in solo action. The doubles duo of McGaffigan and Dominika Walterova also garnered a couple of wins over the weekend.
***Dating back to the fall, Batty and Williams have each won five-straight singles matches. Williams has won seven of her last eight contests.
