"We exercised an option in our contract that allowed us to discontinue the series without financial ramification," Greenspan said. " We really appreciate Oregon and ESPN's cooperation with the schedule change. This allows us to pursue some options with our schedule, and we look to have things wrapped up within the next few weeks."
IU upset then-No. 24 Oregon, 30-24 on Sept. 11, 2004 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The game snapped Oregon's 21-game non-league home winning streak and 11-game home opener winning streak. Indiana also defeated No. 23 Minnesota, 30-21 on Oct. 30, marking the first time since 1987 that the Hoosiers defeated two ranked teams in the same season.
First-year head coach Terry Hoeppner and his staff are busy wrapping up the 2005 recruiting class, which concludes with National Signing Day next Wednesday. Spring practice gets underway March 22 and concludes with the annual Cream-Crimson Game on April 15 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
