Spotlight on Chris McCombs

A three-year letterwinner for head coach Greg Gilbert, Chris McCombs attended Ballard High School in Louisville, Ky. At Ballard, McCombs was nominated to the all-district and all-region teams as a senior.
The 6-0, right-handed pitcher also played third base, hitting .481 and belting five home runs his senior season. Additionally, he compiled a 2.36 ERA on the mound.
In addition to starring on the diamond, McCombs played football for two seasons.

The son of Rich and Kathy McCombs has one brother, Curtis. Chris plans to study exercise science at IU.
