BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana volleyball squad continues to battle for a top-10 spot among the national leaders in blocks per game. Additionally, the Hoosiers can be found in various categories in the latest release of NCAA leaders for matches through Oct. 9.
Overall, the team is in 11th in the country with 3.34 blocks per game, while Nebraska leads with 4.19.
Additionally, senior middle blocker Mandy Eberle chimes in at 18th in the nation with 1.55 blocks per game, while sophomore middle blocker Annie Moddrell stands in 22nd with 1.51 blocks per game. Nebraska's Melissa Elmer leads the nation with 2.27 blocks per game.
Meanwhile, senior outside hitter Rachel Gerling is in 18th with 0.65 aces per game. The nation's leader is Winthrop's Mary Hock with a 1.18 average.
IU heads back on the road for a pair of Big Ten contests this weekend. The Hoosiers open against No. 8 Wisconsin in Madison on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., before heading to Evanston, Ill., to take on Northwestern on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
