BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana volleyball squad remained in the upper echelon of NCAA competition in the latest release of NCAA leaders for matches through Oct. 16.
Overall, the team is 16th in the country with 2.31 blocks per game, while Nebraska leads with 4.18.
Additionally, senior outside hitter Rachel Gerling is in 22nd with 0.59 aces per game. The nation's leader is Winthrop's Mary Hock with a 1.11 average. Meanwhile, senior middle hitter Mandy Eberle is 23rd in the nation with 1.47 blocks per game. Nebraska's Melissa Elmer leads the country with 2.33 blocks per game.
IU returns home for a pair of Big Ten contests this weekend. The Hoosiers open with the Monon Spike match against Purdue on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., before battling Illinois on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. Both matches will take place at the University Gym in Bloomington, Ind.
