Two Hoosier Doubles Pairs Advance to Final Eight

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Indiana women's tennis team took the court for the opening daydoubles play of the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional on the campus of Michigan State. Senior Dora Vastag and sophomore Brianna Williams and senior Sarah Batty and junior Laura McGaffigan both advanced to the final eight of the doubles main draw.
Vastag and Williams blanked both of their first two opponents, 8-0. In the opening round, the Hoosier pair shut down Ball State's Pollack and Reddy before taking it to Minnesota's Malmberg and Reddy.
Batty and McGaffigan, who are coming off of strong play at the ITA All-American Tournament, earned a bye the first round before defeating Butler's Griffin and Bailey, 8-6.
Freshmen Marah Calvo and Sigrid Fischer began the day strong with a win over Purde's Minna and Dzeva, 8-6 in the first round, but fell a strong pair of Northwestern.
