IU Swimming and Diving to be Recognized at Football Game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Members of the swimming and diving program will be recognized during the second timeout of the second quarter of the Homecoming contest against Illinois on Oct. 8 at Memorial Stadium.
From the women's side, graduated senior Cassandra Cardinell, sophomore Christina Loukas and juniors Susanna Ernst and Leila Vaziri will be honored at the football game, while graduated senior Marc Carlton and seniors Sergiy Fesenko and Kevin Swander will be featured from the men's side.
The following at the list of accomplishments each student-athlete will be recognized for:
Cassandra Cardinell
Won the NCAA Platform title, as well as the platform crown at Big Tens. Also seized a silver medal at the World University Games.
Marc Carlton
Won the three-meter and tower Big Ten titles, as well as Big Ten Diver of the Championships and Big Ten Diver of the Year.
Susanna Ernst
Competed in both the 50 back and 200 back for Austria in the World University Games in Izmir, Turkey.
Sergiy Fesenko
Finished 10th in the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal in the 1,500 freestyle for Ukraine.
Christina Loukas
Snared the one-meter Big Ten title, as well as Big Ten Diver of the Championships and Big Ten Diver of the Year.
Kevin Swander
Claimed the Big Ten title in the 200 breaststroke, and captured the silver medal in both the 100 breast and 400 medley relay at the World University Games.
Leila Vaziri
Won the Big Ten title in the 100 back, and earned first team All-Big Ten honors.
In a separate ceremony, Colin Russell was honored as a Glaubinger Scholar-Athlete.
