Hello everyone. Just thought I would fill you in on what has been going on with the Indiana women's Soccer Team. It was certainly nice to have two home games this weekend. Also, it was parents weekend so many of the players had some time to spend with their parents. It is always nice when our parents come in town. I mean, who could refuse a few free meals right? Plus our training tables do not cover our meals for the weekend and us college students need to eat somehow!
Even though most of our parents were in town this weekend, we were still pretty busy with soccer things. On Friday, our game against No. 22 Michigan went very well! I have to say that I was incredibly proud of our entire team. Everyone played with so much intensity and heart, which really showed out on the field. Even better is that all of our hard work resulted in a 2-1 win! It was definitely a tough battle, but we fought hard and came out with the win. After our game the men's soccer team had a game against Penn State and our team stayed to watch them play. It is always exciting to watch the men's team play. Their speed of play is so fast and it just amazes me every time I watch them play.
On Saturday Morning, as a team we decided to participate in the Breast Cancer Walk. We enjoyed the walk a lot, because we convinced coach to let us do this instead of our usual jog and stretch. It was such a nice morning and it gave the team the chance to stretch our legs a bit and to catch up. As a team, we also felt it was important to show our support. After the walk, we had to go and watch some game film and then mostly everyone ran off to go and watch the IU football game that was being shown on TV.
When Sunday came, we knew that our game against Michigan State was going to be important for us. We definitely needed the win. Unfortunately, we were unlucky and Michigan State ended up beating us, 1-0. This probably wasn't one of our best games as a team; however, the good part is that we learned some important things about our team. We have to come out ready to play with intensity and heart like we did in our game on Friday, if we plan on contending in the Big Ten.
This weekend, we head to Ohio State where we face the Buckeyes hoping to get another win.
Go Hoosiers!
