Freshman Wide Receiver James Hardy
On the success between Blake Powers and himself:
JH: "We practiced [together] all throughout the summer and staying here with [Blake] was a great experience and a great way to prepare us for the season. Now everything is just starting to click. He knows what I am going to do and I know when he is going to throw it."
On Blake Powers breaking the single-season touchdown record:
JH: "He works very hard at what he does in the film room and [on the field]. His accomplishments are starting to come and I am happy for him."
Senior Running Back Chris Taylor
On the solid play of the offensive line:
CT: "It is great because it opens up everything, both the pass and the run. When we are successful in the running game and the passing game it confuses the defense and they don't know what to do."
On the play of both the offense and the defense:
CT: "The linemen, the receivers, everybody was on the same page and everybody was doing their job. That is our style of football. If we go out there and do what we are supposed to do, then we can [have success] every game."
On next week's game against Iowa:
CT: "We can't pay attention to the crowd. We just need to go out there and play our game. If we can do that then we can have a good outcome every game."
Sophomore Quarterback Blake Powers
On breaking the single-season touchdown record:
BP: "We have some great receivers that make great catches. We have an offense that likes to throw the ball. To be honest though, the record really doesn't mean much. I'm really not worried about any individual statistic. I'm more worried about winning games."
On the team being 4-1:
BP: "It's a great feeling. We haven't been in this situation in a while. As a team, we have to make sure that we stay focused, take it one game at a time, and try to get better every single week as we get ready for our next opponent."
On the chemistry between James Hardy and himself:
BP: "Sometimes we know what the other person is thinking because we are good friends off of the field. James is a great guy to throw to. He is probably 50 percent of the reason why we have thrown for so many touchdowns. There is definitely some chemistry there and most of that is because we get along so well."
