Men's Basketball Tip-off Luncheons

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's basketball tip-off luncheons are slated for Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 in Indianapolis and Sellersburg, Ind., respectively. Indiana head coach Mike Davis and athletics director Rick Greenspan will be the featured guests at the events.
The Indianapolis event will take place in the Indiana Convention Center in Rooms 122-124. The location is located along the Maryland Street corridor near West Street. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon to follow at noon. The program is slated to start at 12:30 p.m. Reservations are necessary with admission costing $15 per person. Call 317-274-8828 to make reservations for the event.
The following afternoon the Sellersburg event will kick off at the Nolan Fieldhouse (5010 Progress Way) with registration at 11 a.m. The lunch buffet starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program to follow. Tickets for the event are $22.50 a person and seating will be open. Tickets will be held at the door and the reservation deadline is Nov. 4. Indiana is ranked 22nd in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' preseason Top 25. IU returns four starters and welcomes a loaded group of newcomers, including senior transfers Marco Killingsworth and Lewis Monroe. Reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year D.J. White returns as the Hoosiers' top scorer and rebounder with 13.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest in his rookie campaign.
The Hoosiers will open the exhibition portion of the schedule on Nov. 4 against Division II St. Joseph's (Ind.) at 8 p.m. in Assembly Hall. Indiana will open the regular season at home on Friday, Nov. 18. IU will face Nicholls State at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN-Plus. All Hoosier games can be heard on the IU Radio Network with Don Fischer (play-by-play) Todd Leary (analysis) and Joe Smith (pre game, halftime, post game) on the call.
