Indiana Falls to No. 6 Baylor 74-62

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Sophia Young had 19 points and 16 rebounds, leading defending NCAA champion and No. 6 Baylor to 74-62 victory over Indiana on Saturday night for its 23rd straight win.
Angela Tisdale also had 19 points and Abiola Wabara added a career-high 17 for the Bears (3-0).
Young, averaging 25 points a game this season, had five during a 23-5 run after Indiana's last lead early in the second half. The Hoosiers (0-1) made only two field goals in the first 13 minutes after the break, and after two free throws by Cyndi Valentin, the Bears again pulled away and were never threatened.
Two free throws each by Latoya Wyatt and Young, and three straight by Wabara pushed Baylor's lead to 16 with just over 7 minutes remaining.
Baylor, which took a charter flight to Bloomington right after its victory over UCLA on Friday night, missed 10 of its first 14 shots and fell behind 16-10 in the first 7 minutes.
Young, a preseason All-American, then started a 14-1 run for the Bears, and consecutive 3-pointers by Jordan Davis put them up 24-17.
Indiana tied the game at 29, fell behind again and came back in the closing seconds of the half, tying the game at 40 on a layup by Valentin just ahead of the buzzer. Angela Hawkins had the first score of the second half to give the Hoosiers their final lead, and baskets by Wabara and Angela Tisdale started an 11-1 run as Baylor took control for good.
Valentin led Indiana with 25 points and Hawkins added 10.
