Today¡¦s 50,023 attendance marked the second time this season over 50,000 fans have packed Memorial Stadium. The last season Memorial Stadium housed 50,000 plus fans twice in one season was in 1990 versus Ohio State (52,080) and against No. 20 Michigan (51,948).
Senior defensive end Victor Adeyanju shattered his previous career high of six tackles with 12 tackles in the contest. Senior defensive back Damien Jones led the Hoosiers with 13 tackles, the second-best total of his career. Meanwhile, senior lineback Kyle Killion also posted 12 tackles, the second-highest total in his career. It also gives him 16 games in his career with 10-plus tackles.
Adeyanju, Jones and Killion gave the Hoosiers their second straight game with three guys recording 10 or more tackles. Killion, junior safety Will Meyers and sophomore cornerback Leslie Majors each recorded 10-plus tackles at Michigan.
Sophomore quarterback Blake Powers¡¦ 9-yard run for the Hoosiers¡¦ first score of the game is his third running touchdown of the season. Powers struck again on the ground at 11:43 in the fourth quarter, raising his season rushing touchdown total to four.
Powers¡¦ 150 yards against Purdue makes him fourth all-time in single-season yards with 2,305. Powers¡¦ 11 completions moves him from third to second with 212 and his 24 attempts raises him from fourth to second in single-season attempts.
Redshirt freshman James Hardy¡¦s four receptions against the Boilermakers moves him into second place for single-season receptions with 61.
Senior Adam Hines¡¦ 45th start of his career now ties him with former offensive lineman Enoch DeMar for the most consecutive career starts. Senior Victor Adeyanju made his 44th career start, which ties him with former IU standout Antwaan Randle El for second most career nods.
Senior defensive back Will Lumpkin¡¦s second quarter interception was his first this season and the second of his career.
Sophomore Joe Kremer picked up his third sack of the season in the second quarter. The sack is the third of his career.
