Purdue head coach Joe Tiller
On winning the last game of the season:
"Whether you go undefeated or struggle like we did, I think winning the last game of the year is significant. It makes it a little bit easier to pick up the pieces and get into the winter program."
On the turnovers of the game:
"I told Terry (Hoeppner), it's a game of turnovers. If they are coming your way its great and if there not then its not. The idea of getting points off of the turnovers is huge."
The difference in the last three games compared to the rest of the season:
"We've gotten better. Like I said last week, our opponents have not been quite as good as the guys we played earlier in the season, but we have gotten better as a team and we have improved."
What he said to the team after the game:
"I complemented the seniors on the job that they did and the way they finished it out. After we were out of bowl contention, the seniors could have just rolled up the towel and thrown it in, but they really responded. I give the credits for the wins in the last three games to the senior class."
On switching QBs in the season:
"I meet with my quarterbacks every year and explain to them our philosophy. I also alert them to the fact that there can be a change at any time. They have to be prepared for that because we are going to due what is best for our team under the conditions."
On how the underclassman feel:
"I think they are anxious to get going and we are anxious to coach."
