Throughout the year you will be able to find out what is happening with the women's soccer team through the words of the coaches and players of the team. This week's Blogger features junior Lauren Dieter of the women's soccer team.

We started off the Purdue vs. IU festivities on Tuesday night with a bonfire. Since our crazy assistant coach Ian Rickerby was a literature major in college, he decided we should all write limericks (Irish Rhyme). Most of them pertained to the IU/Purdue rivalry or the seniors. However, there was a slight glimpse of poetic genius from freshman goalie Julie Bogusz. I also have to give a shout out to Eric Lemon, our manager, who built a huge bonfire that was complete with a hanging Purdue scarecrow and working fireman.
We have a tradition on this team we like to call freshman skits. It is tradition when we ask the freshman to put on skits to make fun of the other members of the team. This is always amusing, and this year was no different. Molly Kruger sounded exactly like a British Oprah Winfrey, British Jerry Springer and a British Jenny McCarthy. Way to go Molly!!
Finally, what you have all been waiting for the game against Purdue. We kind of left qualifying for the Big Ten Tournament to the last minute. It isn't that we were worried or couldn't have qualified earlier, but we just wanted to make the coaches sweat a little bit. When all was said and done, we tied Purdue clinching a sixth place seed in the Big Ten Tournament and now will take on Michigan State on Thursday. Look out Spartans!!
